Rex White can't seem to put one foot in front of the other without
difficulty. A false accusation leaves him stuck in a dead-end job and little
hope for the future. Wanda White is caught up in grief and loneliness, her
future almost as bleak as Rex's. Rex's mother, Dottie, sees the solution,
