Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Ingredients
1 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
2 cups chocolate chips or M&M"s
1/2 cup nuts, chopped (optional)
Directions
1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2.Grease 13x9 cake pan.
3.Cream together first 7 ingredients.
4.Mix in remaining ingredients.
5.Spread batter evenly in pan.
6.Bake for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned.
