Hi, I do plan to do that next week. I have read where they are designing implants to have more musical abilities. Heard a demo, it appears to be getting better but not there yet. take care From: ken Sent: Friday, February 06, 2015 2:38 PM To: blindav@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [blindav] Re: audio and cochlear implant Hi John. You should check with your audiologist befor you do it. The last thing I heard, was that the implants would not be good for mjusic, because They don’t give you the same ability to tell one pitch from another with a third or fourth interval. It probably o k for speech, but not for music. My tenites get’s bad when I’m tired, so high end stereo would be a waist for me. All I can say is be careful about this very expensive decision. My first real audio experience was a Fisher Receiver and speakers, Sony reel-to-reel recorder. Those were the days> I am 61 and recently lost the hearing in my right ear. That has definitely changed the experience of audio!! I am possibly going to get a cochlear implant, I would like to know if anyone else on this list has had this procedure and what does music sound with one? I have recently read where they are making them to work better with music and to have a lower end. Thanks for any feedback.
