Unfortunately, like the Nation as a whole, the past few months have proven far less positive and thus, the need for this announcement. I am writing to notify everyone that for budgetary reasons, it has become necessary to relieve Chrissie Cochrane of her responsibilities as ACB Radio Manager effective on May 1st of this year. This was an extremely difficult decision, given Chrissie's dedication to ACB Radio and her popularity among its listeners. Beginning May 1st, management of ACB Radio will be handled by a team of volunteers, led by long-time programmer Larry Turnbull. Assisting him through the balance of the year will be Paul Edwards, Chairperson of the Board of Publications, Marlaina Lieberg, ACB Secretary and programmer, Melanie Brunson and myself. While not an ideal situation, Larry is fully committed to this effort as are the other members of the volunteer management team. It is my sincere hope that ACB, through the efforts of our Development Director and the volunteers who are actively involved in fund-raising, will be in a position early next year to once again employ a paid Manager for ACB Radio. Since the buck stops with the President, if you have questions or concerns please feel free to e-mail me and I will be as responsive as possible.
