Yesterday, I received my Braille catalog from the National Braille Press. Among
their new titles they are selling a Windows 10 quick reference guide, which
includes touch-screen commands for both JAWS and NVDA, as both screen readers
include touch gestures for machines which support these features. They also are
offering a new quick reference guide for the Mac, covering the new el Capitan
operating system. They are still selling Jonathan Mosen's "iOS 9 Without the
Eye) and a book covering iOS games. What really interested me is that the
catalog indicates that a book covering Android accessibility is in the works.
My wife owns two Android devices and I've spent hardly any time working with
them but I may actually order that book as I have a minor interest in Android,
due to its popularity and the fact that, in spite of some of its drawbacks,
it's open source. These books, in addition to being in hardcopy Braille, are
also in electronic formats, allowing you to listen to them on your favorite
digital talking book player. I'm not sure if the NLS player can be used for
this purpose; it's possible but you'll need to call and ask them.

I will tell you that Anna Dresner's books on iOS are quite good and I highly
recommend them. So far, there's no iOS 9 book from her and I hope she's working
on one.
