David,

At this point not only does it not receive Amazon Prime but Netflix does not
send described tracks through the fourth generation Apple TV. Consider this
generation a very early work in progress. I have decided to hold off on this
purchase very indefinitely.

Merv,
Jonathan's presentation was a lot of fun to listen to. My wife and I would
consider switching to the Apple TV if I knew that it could receive content
from Amazon Prime. As far as I know, the third generation model had no such
capability which was a dealbreaker for us, as we are Amazon Prime members.
If you ever hear of an Amazon Prime app for the new Apple TV, please let me
know.

Hi,

In anticipation of this evening's meeting I thought I might pass along an
excellent recording that Jonathan Mosen made along with his daughter, Heidi,
while unboxing and connecting their brand new Apple TV complete with
voiceover. I had not heard Heidi since she was a toddler and I worked with
her dad on the ACB Radio Interactive project as the Country Bumpkin so I was
surprised to hear she was so grown up. I sent along an email and
complimented Mister Mosen on his recording. And I told him it is easy to see
where he got his creativity and intelligence. Apparently in New Zealand it
goes backwards, laughs!

Also the new Apple TV although it runs on this new TVOS requires the IOS 9.1
in order to get the best use of shared features from both devices. This is
why I thought it was relevant to tonight's meeting. There was one point in
the recording where it was demonstrated that everything on Jonathan's
account in iTunes that was on his iPhone that was also available for the
Apple TV just appeared in his new Apple TV store and was ready and waiting
to be downloaded. For him this included Periscope, speedtest, Netflix, and
others. It was also noted that just because an app is fully accessible on
his iPhone did not mean it would be fully accessible on his new Apple TV.
Speedtest for example.

I'm looking forward to tonight.

Merv
