Michigan Civil Rights Commission to Meet Monday, January 25 in Lansing

Lansing - The Michigan Civil Rights Commission will hold a regular business
meeting at 2 pm on Monday, January 25 at Peckham, Inc., 3510 Capitol City
Boulevard,
Lansing.
At the meeting, Commissioners will discuss a resolution on an accessible icon
and a tribute to Daisy Elliott. They will also receive updates on several
Michigan Department of Civil Rights initiatives, including issues facing the
deaf community.
Individuals who wish to address the Commission on civil rights issues will have
the opportunity to speak during a public comment period.
The meeting location is accessible and parking is nearby.

The Michigan Civil Rights Commission was created by the Michigan Constitution
to carry out constitutional and legal guarantees against discrimination. The
Commission is charged with investigating alleged discrimination against any
person because of religion, race, color or national origin, sex, age, marital
status, height, weight, arrest record, and physical and mental disability.
