You know, I saw that report somewhere also and at the time, it seemed very
strange because I wondered why the Cuban government would imprison
dissidents at a point when the spotlight was shining on Cuba, when Obama was
about to visit. And since I never read any details, nor explanations, I'm
not sure of the veracity of the report.

I do not have specifics here but I did hear numerous news reports that prior
to Obama's visit to Cuba, some who opposed the Castro government were
arrested.
Are you saying that we were lied to?
Obviusly, the US and our media are biased. But, what I do know is that there
is a long history of Cubans defecting since 1959 including many who have
risked life and limb to escape Cuba.
Just as I am skeptical of the things our government says positively about
how our people are treated, I am equally skeptical of the Castro government.
I am pleased to see that the US is finally moving away from it's
wrong-headed policies that have lasted for almost 60 years.
