It seems to me that an argument could also be made that voting for Hillary
does nothing but perpetuate the current system. Things probably wouldn't get
much worse for people, but it's a lead pipe cinch they wouldn't get any
better either. In any case, come eight years from now, or maybe even four,
we'd be having the exact same arguments all over again. Nobody is more
freaked out about a Trump presidency than I am, but if I voted for Hillary
at this point it would be a vote cast completely out of fear, and I just
can't bring myself to do that. I think there are a few things to keep in
mind here. First of all, the Republican establishment doesn't want Trump any
more than any of us does, and from now until election day they'll throw
everything up to and including the kitchen sink at him to try and stop him
from getting elected. It also has not escaped my notice that some of the GOP
movers and shakers have come out and said they could live with a Hillary
presidency. That tells me all I need to know. As a caveat tto all this, I
should point out that the Hoosier State where I live is almost certainly
going red come what may, so I can vote my conscience with a fairly clear,
um, conscience.
