I think that the title of her latest book is Democracy Now and it's about
her 20 years of reporting. I think I've read 2 books about Katrina so far
and I know that reading them was very enlightening and very disturbing.

Subject: [blind-democracy] Static by Amy Goodman

Hi
I am now reading Static by Amy Goodman.  You might think that because it
was written in 2006, it might be out of date.  This really isn't the case.
There were several things that I didn't remember or had forgotten.  It
starts out by talking about Katrina.  There were two things that really
stood out in the book.  I didn't know that, even though the government knew
Katrina was going to hit New Orleans, every top government official was off
on vacation.  The second thing was how racially charged the relief was
carried out.  If a white person was looting, they were just trying to get
by.  If a black person was looting, they were looters.  There is so much
information in the book that I can only read a few pages before I get bogged
down.  This book is a very good read.  I would highly recommend it.  I found
it on Bookshare.
