[bksvol-discuss] superscript/subscript that really are something else

Dear Lissi,

I don't know if this will help in your circumstance, but I've found raised and
lowered letters that your computer might read as superscript or subscript but
really aren't. I have to go into the Format file, click on Font, then click on
Character Spacing. There are two bars, one for spacing and one for position.
You'll usually find that the position shows "raised" or "lowered;" then you
just use the arrow to change it to "normal."

I don't know what causes this to happen but it must be something in the
scanning conversion process caused by something in the book.
