Hi Charisma,

First, both of the books are quite long. This could be what's causing your
Stream to have trouble. I suggest opening the xml files with your internet
browser to see if you can navigate them more easily in that environment.

Second, the first book that you mention was added to the Bookshare
collection a long, long time ago before even page breaks were required in
books. It's possible that in that book the reason you can't navigate is
because there are no marks in the book by which to navigate. So, not a
problem with your Stream, just what happens sometimes with books added early
in Bookshare's existence.

Your second book shouldn't have this problem, as it was added in 2009, but
again, I'd open the file in your browser and see if it has heading
navigation. If not, that'd explain why you can't find chapters to navigate
to. Pages shouldn't be a problem.

I don't have the real answer for you, just ideas. But I don't think it's a
problem with your Stream, just these particular books have some as yet
undefined issue.

If you find it a real problem and can't access the books comfortably on your
computer via your browser, perhaps you would consider making a book quality
report.

That's all of my guesses.

Mayrie

No, I was a goofus and forgot to put the titles.

#1 The Wars of the Jews or History of the Destruction of Jerusalem by
Flavius Josephus translated by William Whiston. Converted From ASCII and
repaginated

#2 Best Evidence: Disguise and Deception in the Assassination of John F.
Kennedy by David S. Lifton (excellent book, by the way. Very even-handed so
far)

One thing I noticed about Best Evidence is that--when I had it accidentally
loaded into the Talking Books part of my reader and not the TTS part--it
read page 388 and then the next pages were 349, 350 and so forth. I can't
confirm or deny that in the TTS because I can't navigate by pages in TTS,
only by percentage.
