Hi Katie,
You have not cut a page to do that and so it's highly unlikely. You'll
need to try it to be 100% sure though. And, of course you'll need to be
working in one of the supported file types.

What about inserting a scan? Will this delete the bookmarks?

Hi Mickey and Bud,
I must have missed Bud's original post. To find the bookmarks section in
the Kurzweil manual, I used, yep, the Bookmarks feature.
Press CTRL+R to open the dialog then select the following options: 5. Accessing document navigation commands Working with Bookmarks and either use that first level, or you can pick a specific item dealing with the feature.
It'll give all the details like the following note that tells where Bookmarks can be saved
Notes:
Kurzweil 1000 preserves bookmarks only if you save your documents in the
Kurzweil 1000 .kes format or in the DAISY .opf format. If you change the
format, you'll lose the bookmarks you've already created.
If you cut a page that has bookmarks from the document, then paste it back,
either in the same document or another file, you'll lose the bookmarks.

It wasn't easy to find, and I couldn't give you a concise answer.
Also, from what I gather, if you transfer your KES file to another computer, the bookmarks won't be kept. Happy deleting. Mickey

Thanks Mickey, that's seems very straight forward. I don't know why I couldn't find it. I'll go and delete a bunch of them now.
Bud At 11:42 AM 6/24/2006, you wrote:Bud, page 63 of the manual discusses delete. I'll try to copy it. If youhave something different, let me know and I'l try to summarize. Deleting Bookmarks
1. In the Go to Bookmark dialog (ALT+V+B), ensure that your cursor is in the Select a bookmark list.
2. Use the UP/DOWN ARROW keys (and the LEFT/RIGHT ARROW keys in a multi-level list) to move through this list.
3. Stop when you hear the bookmark you want. This selects it.
4. You can delete in one of three ways:
Press the Delete key on your keyboard.
Use the mnemonic ALT+D.
Or TAB to the Delete command button in the dialog box.
5. Press ENTER to confirm the deletion.
6. You can continue to select and delete other bookmarks.
7. When you are done, you can cancel all deletions you have specified in this dialog by pressing ESCAPE.
8. Or, if you are sure you want to make all the deletions, press ALT+O or
TAB to the OK command button to finalize the process and close the dialog.

Hi Gang,
This question is about k1000 but has to do with bookshare so I suppose
somebody on this list will have the answer. Question 1. If I don't
delete the bookmarks in a book and I change it from .kes to .rtf will
the bookmarks cause any problems? Question 2. How can I delete all the
bookmarks I have set in a gbook while reading? I've looked in the
k1000 manual but can't seem to find the answer to that particular
question. I know when a book is saved in .kes it will always go back to
where you left it when you go back, but there are times when I want to go to somewhere else in the book while scanning and with my bad memory sometimes I forget where I was so I just put a bookmark there so I can find it. Thanks.
