At least when the old list existed, the books just returned to it appeared at the top. This made it easy for those of us using speech and braille displays to find out who just returned a book. We could then leave that book alone for a couple of days in case the validator's time ran out.


The way the list is now is harder to use for me but perhaps it is easier for print users.
