I have read this list of books with a heavy heart. I have fears for a
country, and for citizens who believe they have the right to make decisions
for others about what they should or may read. We all know that the banning
of books is a symptom of something horrible and wrong, something frightening
and oppressive. what can people, either as individuals or as groups of
concerned individuals, do? How far will this sort of oppression go before
the person who is more concerned about purchasing more and more material
goods, figures out that our society is being limited, dumbed down, and
chiseled away to a level where one is either demanding more "bread and
circuses", or ranting and raving out of self-righteousness and ignorance.
