Good idea That sounds as if it should be an easy fix compared to the other
things we're asking for smile; but then there's a reason I'm not in the
engineering department. grin

>I, too, am in absolute agreement here.  This
time, I didn't receive my announcement regarding the pending expiration, but
happened to remember that it was today.  Sure enough, when I checked, there
was my "Renew" link.  Very odd.  I believe that Tim's suggestion (and
others have made it as well), to keep the "Renew" link permanent, would save a
lot of frustration.

>o.k. BUT THE RENEW OPTION ISN'T THERE.
> Maybe, until the warnings
and renew options can be put in sync, we can, at least temporarily, get rid
of  a time limit for  working on books. I'm sure all of us proofers
will happily check in our books when we're finished proofing them, and being
reminded how long we've been working on them is not necessary. Some books are
tomes and take a long to proof. The fact that a book is out being proofed is on
a list of Books in Progress. If anyone is particularly interested in a
particular book he/she can ask about it, i.e., ask the proofer to release it,
or
ask how it's  coming along (I've been asked that by scanners of books I've
proofed, or ask if we've forgotten  about the book. Or Carrie or
Madeleine  can ask if we've forgotten about the book or are still working
on it. That would be much less intrusive and annoyng than getting reminders
that
we have exceeded out 14 days especially when we can't renew them and have to
take time away from working on them to keep checking the books  we have
out
