From you say I think you're absolutely right about me and what I'll like, and I think I'll stay away from the Monk series as pleasure reading (unless I validate one of those books some day--smile). I don't like misunderstandings in movies or literature, and to have him be thought of as he was before...also, I prefer reading about the upper classes. I didn't care for the historical novel/romances by an author whose name I can't think of now but began with "C" because they dealt with the working and lower classes (plus they had a lot of dialect)--although she's a very popular writer.
