Well, if the scan had been this sloppy at the beginning I would have rescanned it, but Sarah Blake had had it for a long time. I've now had it since October and it was there two years ago (that's when it was submitted.) I guess I have 160 pages left of it, and in a way it would be faster to can it, but no one apparently wanted to validate it much before and so I would hate to see it languish long. That's why I keep validating it. I would probably have to reject it even now if I did not have the book, and I keep thinking maybe as the unfinished side gets smaller it will start to lighten up again.
