In most on-line manuals I have seen, the contents has same-page links where
one can jump immediately to, say a chapter and/or section. The manual is
one huge page with the same-page links and major chapter headings for
example at heading level 1, sections at heading level 2 and sub-sections at
heading level 3 and so on. "Jump to contents" or "jump to top of page"
links are provided in strategic places.
