Deborah, I'm glad to know that I am not the only one who doesn't like to see hyphens substituted for dashes. I always fix them myself when I put a book on my Braille Lite, but if I edit them on the computer as I scan, will proper dashes always be identified verbally as either "long dash" or "dash dash?" If these are always distinguished verbally, I will always search and replace while I am scanning to eliminate hyphens where there should be dashes the next time I scan a book for Bookshare.

Hi all, I've just submitted a BSO of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, although I seem to have had a brain cramp and forgot to put BSO in the title. The copy already on BookShare has the irritating problem of all of them-dashes (long dashes) having been stripped and replaced by single hyphens.I rescanned it and left the m-dashes where they belong. I've also done all the usual cleanup, so should be a quick and easy validation.
