This is a good thriller which was later a film, but don't expect it to resemble the movie much. It concerns Blanche Lake, a single mom who must leave her child at a new nursery school in order to go to work. When she returns to collect her duaghter, she discovers that Bunny is missing, and that no one at the school will admit to havingt seen her there. The authorities soon come to believe Blanche is mentally ill and the child is a hallucination, but Blanche fights on to find Bunny.
