You could use memt30 to check out the memory in your machine. Do this
overnight because it takes time. Also, what version of OB and what specs on
your machine?

  Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Specialized Scanning Software

  Hi,

I have thought about scanning a book, but my OpenBook has never worked
correctly on my computer. I finally uninstalled it. I tried reinstalling, but
it still did not work. It appeared to eat up memory, and would fizzle out so I
could not even get a file menu to come up. So I have been checking the
submitted books prior to publication.

Would Kurzweil 1000 be a better way to go for scanning software?

Also, if a person is blind, how do you keep track of the pages already
scanned? If a page or two end up missing, how do you insert them later?
