Kim, Melissa is exactly right. Please don't remove or change subscripts and 
superscripts, since they do provide information and they are part of the core 
content of a book.

Kim, you should not get rid of superscripts and subscripts, assuming 
they should be that way. Also, they are really a formatting thing, not a 
character,.
