Hi everyone! I want to add to what I said below. I did a search on amazon.com for porn addiction, and it says: Books: See all 76 itemsIf there was not a problem in this area that needed treating, there wouldn't be so many books.
Here is the link to my search page. http://www.amazon.com/s/qid=1270149183/ref=sr_nr_seeall_1?ie=UTF8&keywords=porn%20addiction&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Aporn%20addiction%2Ci%3AstripbooksHere is one book that I have heard of while listening to the authors as guests on a radio program called Midday Connection.
The Porn Trap: The Essential Guide to Overcoming Problems Caused by Pornography (Paperback)
~ Wendy Maltz Larry Maltz The link to the page for that book is: http://www.amazon.com/Porn-Trap-Essential-Overcoming-Pornography/dp/0061231878/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1270146263&sr=1-2I have read a few of the reviews, both the editorial and customer reviews, which were intelligently written, and the book is thought of quite highly, being given a 5.0 rating by the reviewers I read.
Debby Previous message: Hi Jamie and everyone!I have heard programs on porn addiction, and they say that kids who see playboy or other explicitly sexual content as children often become addicted to porn as adults, and these are from many walks of life including pastors. This addiction can wreck a marriage. This addiction is a real stronghold, as the programs have said, and so it's a hard addiction to break. I think that responsibile adults should look after children in their care in this way as well as from other dangers.
I do not know anyone with this addiction. Debby At 10:49 PM 3/29/2010, Jamie Yates, CPhT wrote
Laws are what they are, Roger. They're there for a reason, just like it's against the law to cell cigarettes to those under 18 and alcohol to those under 18 or 21 depending upon the state. I wouldn't advocate allowing 16 year olds to buy alcohol any more than I would advocate allowing children under 18 access to the four books I listed as examples of true adult books. While their parents are still legally liable for their actions, they can't be allowed to purchase alcohol (and potentially harm another person maybe driving while drunk) and I'm sure there are valid reasons for not allowing true adult content for minors as well.I don't think you'd be very successful in repealing those kinds of laws.My point was simply to give true examples of ADULT books, not the books that are currently getting marked as adult.-- Jamie in Michigan Currently Reading: Carved in Bone by Jefferson BassEarn cash for answering trivia questions every 3 hours: <http://instantcashsweepstakes.com/invitations/ref_link/49497>http://instantcashsweepstakes.com/invitations/ref_link/49497See everything I've read this year at: <http://www.michiganrxtech.com/books.html>www.michiganrxtech.com/books.htmlNo virus found in this incoming message.
