However, I'm pretty sure the book didn't have a table of contents for a
different reason. I took a look at the book's page on the Bookshare "Books
in process" page. The person who scanned it is Marilyn. She's a fantastic
scanner. It's extremely unlikely that she would have missed a page with the
table of contents when scanning. However, you can double check with her.
The way to do that for any book you have checked out is to get the
scanner's email address from the book's history page on Bookshare, and send
them an email with the question you have.
To do that for any book you have checked out, log in to bookshare. Then go
to your "My checked out books" page at
https://catalog.bookshare.org/bookQueueMyCheckouts. Click on the title of
the book (in this case "The Wish in the Bottle.") That will bring up the
book's metatdata page. On that page you will find a link called "View Book
History". Click that link. On that page, the oldest entry in the book
history table will have the name of the volunteer who scanned the book as a
link. If you click on that link, it will bring up the email address of the
volunteer. Alternatively, the volunteer may have left their email address
in the comments they made when they submitted the book. Marilyn always does
that.
Marilyn is also on this list, so I'm changing the subject line of the
email so she'll know to look at it, too. smile.
