This may sound crazy, but maybe you can send the .ark files as email
attachments to another Openbook user.
If another person could open them on their computer, convert them into .rtf
files and send them back to you, would that help?
Or if not through email attachments, maybe post the .ark files to a file
hosting site such as Send Space.
Just thought I'd toss out the suggestions.
