Actually I think it can get fixed, it is a complicated story why it hasn't been done. Smile, money isn't the issue though as I am not paying rent at the moment and make a pretty good salary for a civil servant.

Hi all,
Hmmm, the last time I bought one of those was about twelve years ago. At that time, I paid about $700.00 for a new one. This is Rochester, so the cost of living may be higher here, but given that it was twelve years ago, maybe the price isn't too off. Now, getting it repaired may be a good thing and it may not. I'd get two estimates for repairs and two for replacement, then sit down and make your decision. <sigh> It's times like these when you wish you could do what the financial guys tell you to do and save a goodly percentage of your income. Ha! Those people are dreaming, truly! Good luck!
