Jamie, some cookbooks scan well. It depends on how the publisher prints the recipes. Publishers tend to want to mingle recipes in and around pictures, and they use multiple columns for things. OCR programs get confused. Weight Watchers books scan well, and my Betty Crocker cookbooks scan pretty well, though I wouldn't dare submit them because I can't verify the accuracy of every single fraction. I guess it's just a crap shoot. I have scanned a ton of cookbooks, but I don't submit because I can't proofread each recipe. :(
