[bksvol-discuss] Re: Jake's page & elipses

That tip is very helpful, since it pertains
particularly to bookshare. I guess I learned that once
and that's why I close the spaces between the dots and
between the dots and the rest of the sentence.

Before I read your post, Jake, I did some research by
googling, since I don't have my usual grammar
handbooks handy where I am now. Very confusing. I
couldn't find my old standbys on line, and the ones on
vary with what they say. Interestingly, though, some
differentiate between ellipses in print (usually with
spaces between the dots) and in computer writing
(without the spaces).

One had a space between the final period of a sentence
and then the three-dot ellipsis, which I've never seen
before. Most, however, had the four dots together.

Well, this is longer than it need be, since for our
purposes Sarah's tip on Jake's site is clear. And
note, please, Jake and Gerald, that I am restraining
myself from providing the information here. grin--I
had to put straps on my wrists and tie them to my
chair. smile S I want that chocolate for my effort,
Gerald. smile
