I can get Apples to Oregon, and requested it.

Can't get the other one, but will look again later.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Fw: book requests

A member from Oregon wrote requesting a couple of books that the state and libraries are asking citizens to read to celebrate Oregon's 150th birthday. We have one in the collection, Bat 6" by Virginia Euwer Wolff a juvenile/Young adult book. The other two are requested--a children's book,"Apples to Oregon" by Deborah Hopkinson. Illustrated. A pioneer family moves cross country to Oregon bring fruit trees. Based loosely on the life of a state local, a "Johnny Appleseed" sort; and "Stubborn Twig" by Lauren Kessler, a factual account of Japanese American family, 3 generations. 1903 to small farming area, WWI anti-Japanese time, in WWII a son is arrested and jailed as spy, rest of family scattered and some put into internment camps.
