Cindy,

Removing all of the page breaks will result in the book being rejected.
Books must have page breaks in order to provide correct page navigation in
the DAISY books and original page numbers in the BRF books. The guideline
Lisa gave me in regards to rejecting books with missing page breaks is if
the book is missing more than 10% of the page breaks, then it should be
rejected. Note that this is a guideline, not a requirement, so use your
best judgement, but be willing to reject if there are a lot of page breaks
missing.

HTH

Gerald

Well, I thought I had subscribed to the list long time ago. No wonder I
didn't know how. So following is the message I had sent when I wasn't
subscribed. Yup! I'm a pretty darned good volunteer.

Subject: A validation question

Hi, List,

First off, I am not sure to what address one E-mails to the volunteer list.
I
am on it, I might add. *smile* Anyway, I have a question. This question
probably would be a good one to discuss in the chat room, but I have no
microphone yet. Anyway, here's the question:

I am proofreading a book in which all of the new pages do not have page
breaks, but many do. Some of the pages are short, like ten lines, and refer
to new pages, but there is no page break and there is no reason why such a
page break would really need to be there. Does this screw up the software as
they attempt to make the book user friendly? If so, how do you get out the
page breaks? I have not edited RTF files before.

Thanks.
Cindy Lou Ray
