Subject: New international partner: South African Library for the Blind

Hello everyone,

We now have a formal agreement with the South African Library for the
Blind<http://www.salb.org.za/>, who will be promoting Bookshare and verifying
Proof of Disability for members from South Africa. (Unlike other partners, SALB
will not facilitate subscription payments. Members must pay Bookshare directly.)

SALB provides library services to the general public, and is currently working
on a project with the school libraries of 22 schools for the blind. This
involves quarterly site visits, initial evaluation of the infrastructure,
teacher training, and follow up evaluation.

We ran a pilot with SALB last year to test interest, so we already have 21 very
active members in South Africa who have downloaded more than 3300 books in the
last 12 months.

Thanks,
Kristina
