[bksvol-discuss] Distinguishing between next page section breaks, and next section section breaks

Hi List,
I am attempting to replace all section breaks with next page breaks in a
book I have scanned. My problem is that there appears to be two types of
section breaks -- those which force a new page, and those which simply force
a new section. For instance, the document has 610 sections, and 588 pages.
This presents a problem when I replace all section breaks with page breaks
because the final RTF page number turns out to be something like 1.1
thousand. The book itself has only 588 pages. Is there any way I can get
Word to only replace section breaks that start a new page, and not section
dividers? Thanks for any help.
