Hey these are valuable changes. Thank you Jerald for sharing them in nonengineering speak, for us mortals, smile. This is great progress. Shelley L. Rhodes B.S. Bookshare made some changes to the website during that time in order to fix some bugs which had been reported to the staff. Here is a summary of the changes made to Bookshare on Feb. 7. * The checkboxes for categories on the Advanced Search form have been modified so that if you check a specific category, the All Categories checkbox will be cleared, and checking the All Categories checkbox will clear the checkboxes for all of the individual categories. * Several pages for listing books have been modified so that they no longer display messages such as "These are books 0 through 7". The pages now list the first book as book 1 instead of 0. * The Preferences web page, which can be accessed after clicking on My Account, has been modified to properly store the user's choice for whether or not to block adult content, and all pages which list books should now list books based on that setting. * The Advanced Search page and Browse By Author page now work properly when the list of books returned are too many to fit on a single page. Both pages now allow you to move to another page of results in order to view the entire list of books. * The Copyright Name field on the Submission Form has been renamed to Copyright Holder to make it clearer that the name of the copyright holder should be entered in that field instead of the book's title or publisher. * Information about the Unpack Tool for Mac and Linux users has been updated. * A problem with member registration has been corrected which sometimes caused a member's home state to be stored inaccurately. The problem was responsible for some members not being able to access newspapers even though they live in a state which makes them eligible to download the Newsline content. * Several problems associated with the form for ordering an embossed Braille hardcopy of a book have been corrected. The website will now acknowledge an order instead of returning you to the order form, and the credit card information should now display correctly during order confirmation. * The website no longer displays a Log In link once you are logged in. * When an organization purchases a book package, they will now be redirected to the main organization page instead of the Manage Institutional Roster page. I've been told that Engineering is working on the bug which is causing the duplicates in the new books list and that they hope to have it resolved by the next update to the site. Their goal is to release updates about once a month, so the next update should be in a few weeks. I should be getting the release notes for each upgrade from now on and will forward the changes to the list after I've cleaned them up a bit. The staff wants to begin making them available to the list, but the Engineer's notes don't make much sense unless you're used to reading that type of thing, so I'll be rewriting them to make them easier to understand.
