I was just using the "New Books" feature on K1000, and it wouldn't create
a cache.  The process is silent, and you normally can't have a
screenreader and K1000 talking at once; so can't tell you much, except
that every time Bookshare or WebBraille  is changed, K1000 has to change. 
Whether it's a bug or a feature, it's great as long as everybody is in
sync.
