Dear Grand Cindy,
As you've done before, you have conjured a helpful service for us that we
didn't know we needed. I'll be interested in seeing your lists of books
rated fair.
I am surprised that there are only 1,237 of them. I thought there would be
more. It goes to show that we tend to notice the stones in the road more
than the smooth stretches. I'm also reminded of how proud I am that no new
fair books are being added and that the staff and we continue to upgrade the
quality of the Bookshare collection.
I enjoyed it so much when E and others would set Bookshare goals on January
1. Since validating is so much fun for me, ideas for new goals tend to
energize me. We might consider a goal of reducing that total of 1,237 to
under a thousand books in 2009. I wouldn't be so rash as to suggest bsoing
all of them because not all of them will attract our interest. Tracking down
print copies of some of them might even be difficult, but it's a pretty good
bet that one out of four are well worth upgrading.

I put "books rated Fair" in the Advanced search on the volunteer home page
and they are listed, though I don't know what order--not alphabetical.
There are 1,237.
Making a list will be very easy and quick, but I can't do it right now.
Here is the tiny URL in the meantime, though, for the first page of 100.
I think I'll have time in between validating this week.
