Hi Ann. When I saw this subject, I was about to correct you. I'm glad to see this caught your attention. Is it possible whoever submitted this book just placed a comma in the wrong place? -Alyssa -----Original Message----- From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ann Parsons Sent: Tuesday, April 07, 2009 2:46 PM To: Volunteers, Bookshare Subject: [bksvol-discuss] "Bois, W. E. B. Du" Hi all, Well, the subject line pretty much says it all. Folks, we have to do something about the way the system treats unusual names of authors like this. It looks dumb, frunkly! I think that someone as important to American history and Black history in particular deserves better. W. E. B. Du Bois was one of the most famous civil rights activists of the early 20th century, and to have this author's name massacred like this is criminal. Is there nothing that can be done about this? One should look under D not B for this author's name. Also, on a totally different matter, I tried something totally new with my last proofing job. I checked the fonts of the chapter titles in the Godzilla book I just submitted, and I found that the type was the same size as the text. So, I used the alt-ctrl-1 command on the selected text and made it into a heading. I hope it worked OK. I'd really be interested in knowing if what I did panned out or not. So if any staff are interested, the book is Godzilla: Journey to Monster Island, Book 3 by Scott Ciencin. Ann P. -- AAnn K.
