Hi, Marissa, I know it must be frustrating to suddenly find a bunch of messages about lack of responsiveness, but there is a history to the page number subject, with which you may not be familiar. This is perhaps the third time (or more) that the page number issue has come up. Bookshare has known for at least a year or two that many users need page numbers, and the reasons have been given repeatedly. As far as I recall, there has been no official response, whenever this subject has arisen. College is only a distant memory for me now (grin), but I can certainly see the need for students to have page numbers. I like your idea of developing some kind of system to try to keep good suggestions from falling through the cracks. I would be glad to help, if possible, and I'm sure a lot of other volunteers would, too. One thing I think Bookshare should keep in mind: I think when people find something they really like (e.g., Bookshare), but see needed improvements, they tend to complain. In our desire to see a good service become even better, we may not always express the kind of appreciation we should. If no one liked the service, however, there would probably be no users around to fuss about the flaws. The folks I've talked to who really didn't like Bookshare just didn't bother resubscribing. I think Bookshare is about the best thing since chocolate, but I may not always remember to say that, when I write to ask what happened to a book I submitted (smile). Thanks for all you are doing--and for all you would do, if you had the resources.
