Hi Scott,

I think I can very safely put your fears to rest about an increase in fair books.

Currently just under 5% of BookShare books are rated fair.

In about the last 3,000 books added, only 36 titles rated fair made it into the collection, a whopping 1.2%.

So the tendency towards fair is definitely false, and as Gerald points out, today's were done all by the same person.

Also remember that several of the early Spanish books were rated fair because of the lack of a quality processing tool. My stats above concern all books, not just English.

I was tipped off, as other listers have stated on previous days, by an email which informed me of the acceptance of a book of mine. Upon going to the new English books page, I did indeed find a number of new books. In that group, there was an unhealthy handful of submissions rated fair, maybe half a dozen or so. This seemed like a high percentage to me, considering the capabilities of scanning software these days. Has Bookshare cut down on the number of fair submissions?

Scott
