Hi Cindy,

I don't think you need the second asterisk in your example. When I format
footnotes within the body of text I just use a space  before the asterisk
and then the footnote number. If this is within a paragraph I then put a
space and continue with the text. 

Example:
Sentence containing words. *1 Another sentence containing more words.

In the notes I saved I have that we're supposed to put space,asterisk,
footnotenumber, another space and another asterisk. Should there then be  a
space after the second asterisk before the rest of the sentence, or should
the rest of the sentence come immediately after the second asterisk. It's
been a while since I've proofed a book with footnotes. (I misss not putting
the footnote number in superscript; it looks so much prettier, smile (though
I know that doesn't help the blind members.
