Lisa , I'm verysorry to hear you've been sick; I'm not one for whom
you proof, but I'm sure they'd want to say take your time and get your
energy back, and enjoy convention.
I think it's very nice of you to explain. IMO a few days or a week
isn't e terribly long time to work on a book. My scanners know it
takes me a long time to proof; if someone asks me to proof a book I
ask if he/she wants it done quickly, in which case I put it at the
top of my pile and do push other things back. Books that come from the
library have to be done fairly quickly a(within 3 weeks unless I can
renew them), because I don't dare return them until the proof is
accepted. books that I have for months I do send explanations (e.g.,
the book hasn't come from the library yet) or reassurance that I
haven't forgotten, I'm still working on it.
