I was standing uphill in the lower yard admiring a prairie patch of wildflowers when a Prairie Coneflower made a sudden leap into the air. Then I came to my senses and realized it was a Goldfinch. There were several goldfinches feeding on the dark brown heads of the coneflowers. I had never realized the coneflower to be a source of food for the Goldfinch. Have a good day!!!
