It's hard to count hummingbirds, but our nectar consumption plummeted suddenly
from 2 cups a day to near zero about last Friday, the 19th. We still have at
least one.
I saw a Marsh Wren in the hay field again yesterday morning. No more
pictures..yet.
Twice yesterday I saw a hawk flying from a dead walnut beside the tobacco barn.
Looked like a falcon bigger than a Kestrel. Decided to quit stripping tobacco
early and try to relocate it. Had no luck with that, but spotted a Raccoon
eating little critters it was catching at the edge of the pond. Watched it hunt
about 10 minutes. It never saw me and still doesn't know it's been shot by 2
different canons. 4 new pix here -
