Hummingbirds continue their daily visits to my feeders as of this evening, Oct. 4. I believe this is 9 days longer than previous hummers have stayed. Saw my first Sandhill Crane of the fall on Oct. 2nd, but it was slightly westof Lawrenceville, IL. I never would have seen the bird but for the fact that I was observing F-16 fighter planes practice manuevers at about 15,000 feet when a tiny dot came into view. I grabbed my binoculars and watched the crane slowly fly due east towards the Wabash River. Tom _______________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
