Yesterday as I was walking through the back yard a hummingbird lit on the clothesline. I stopped in my tracks to see how long it would sit there. After a long rest of 15 seconds or so it flew over to some nearby honeysuckle, fed a bit, then took another brief rest on the clothesline. As I continued to stand still watching it take its rest on the clothesline, it suddenly made a beeline straight for me, and hovered for several seconds all around my straw hat, which has a red hat band.
