From my kayak in the back creeks of Blood River the woods were alive with singing N. Parulas, L. Waterthrushes, BG Gnatcatchers, Red -eyed Vireos, and one Prothonatary Warbler. A little Winter Wren was darting in and out of the exposed roots on the creek. A G Yellowlegs flushed along with a flock of Gadwalls and BW Teals when a Bald Eagle flew over. N. Shovelers and three W. Snipes were nearby. An Osprey whistled overhead, and two Barred Owls were communicating. At Jonathan Creek I observed from the shore: Solitary Sandpiper About 35 Bonies most decked out with new black caps F. Terns Buffleheads and Scaups.
