Glad you guys found it...no such luck for us. We searched many places around
the lake, including Bailey’s and the dam areas, but had to leave before the
evening gull homecoming. As I write this, eBird is down for maintenance, but we
had a great day in any case. Highlights were:
2 FOS singing chipping sparrows
7 bald eagles
20 r-b mergansers in resplendent breeding plumage
15 bufflehead in same
Many dozens of scaup too far away for us to ID
Horned and p-b grebes
Many Bonaparte’s and R-B gulls
Retreating back to JC Jones Rd in Hart County, we had a first: Ross’s and Snow
Geese in the same field of view in our scope. Also 40 snipe.
eBird posts to follow when the site permits.

Subject: [birdky] YES Little Gull
The Barren River Little Gull was seen by several birders this evening in a gull
roost at Bailey’s Point Recreation Area. During the day, it could possibly
still be frequenting other areas it has been reported previously such as Quarry
Road and Peninsula Recreation Areas.
