Could you be more specific? I went out this evening and parked in the large
lot with the activities building, but could find no "gravel road", only
fitness trails. Is it one of these? Which direction? Or was I in the wrong
place entirely? I saw only practice fields in this area and no sign of
woodcocks.

While you're at the park, stop in the Recreational Building (brown
building - Freys Hill Parking lot) and take a look at the Interpretive
Room. (1st floor)
