I feel that even a single bird window collision is too many. The American
Bird Conservancy has some excellent information on preventing window

This article has several tested ways to prevent bird collisions, some of
which are quite inexpensive.
I applied the Feather Friendly adhesive dots mentioned in the article on the
sliding glass doors (4 - 6' x 7' doors, a lot of glass) in our new house
(with a little tweaking) and THEY WORK. (I also curtained a window opposite
the three glass doors to the back deck.)
If you are having birds hitting your windows, there are solutions. One (or
more) of them will work for you, if not 100%, still highly effective. A lot
of birds can be saved.
