So a couple of days before Eric and I were out in Ky Bend, the water level had
been a couple of feet higher, making the road about the only thing out of the
water. A large flock of birds *had* been using the road, which was cut off to
vehicular traffic by the high level, on which to loaf.
A local fisherman confirmed that the poopers had been a large flock of American
White Pelicans ... :-)
